A Service of Remembrance was held June 24 at First United Presbyterian Church in Grand Junction for Beverly Rose Boorn, 87, of Jefferson.
Pastor Tere Erickson offered words of comfort. Meladee Graven was soloist, accompanied by Janet Wills. Honorary bearers were Rose’s card and coffee club ladies.
Casket bearers were Jack Lint, Bob Montgomery, Tony Jones, Kreg Hoskinson and Kary “Fuzz” Hoskinson. Interment was at the Junction Township Cemetery.
The family was assisted by Slininger-Schroeder Funeral Home of Jefferson.
Beverly Rose Bishop was born December 10, 1929 in Churdan, IA to Marie (Mary Jane) and William Henry Bishop. She was the fifth child out of seven.
Beverly grew up on a farm near Churdan. She graduated from Churdan High School in 1947. She married Hans Madesen Jr in Stuart in 1948. To this union, six children were born.
In 1967, Beverly was married to Floyd C. Haase and they had 25 years of marriage. Floyd passed away in July of 1991. In 1994 Beverly married Paul Boorn and he later passed away March 2, 2005.
Beverly worked her entire life at numerous jobs, retiring from the factory in Jefferson. She truly enjoyed her coffee and card club ladies, her home, her family, and her flowers.
Beverly Boorn died June 20, 2017 at the Greene County Medical Center.
Survivors include her daughters and sons Kathy (Jr) John of Boone, Sharon (Randy) Riley of Perry, Ken Madesen Rick (Susan) Madesen and Dan Madesen, all of Grand Junction, and David (Joyce) Madesen of Huron, SD. Also surviving is a sister, Shirley Homovich of Harrisville, MI; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends.
